Stuff: Buried Treasure

I have to be honest; there’s nothing glamorous, or glorious, about my day job. When I’m not maintaining the tracks and schedules of the rails, I’m usually keeping Grand Central afloat with a contract gig in property management. And while, sometimes, that can be as cool as networking printers, setting up wireless connections, and fixing complex printers; it can also mean sweeping up parking lots, hanging pictures, and dealing with the trash.

But when Phyllis, the beloved executive admin, and twenty five year veteran, of the company loses her bracelet – a gift from a family member no longer with us, then there’s no greater task at hand!

Eventually we back tracked her morning routine to a trash can where she had dumped out the old coffee grounds so she could make another pot. A holiday weekend worth of garbage later I had recovered, and cleaned, her bracelet.

Hero? That’s what they called me, but I don’t think so. Just all in a day’s work for The IronChuck, really. I’m just glad I was there to help.

Armed with her iPhone, and lightening fast on the TMZ page, Yazmin is not only a capable front end admin, but also a testament to her generation when it comes to pop culture and using technology to stay on top of it.
